Amazon Geisha

I have tapped into my creativity in the kitchen in many ways after the first of the year, eating a more plant based diet, with less meat, dairy and other animal products.  I feel great, and have not lost any strength or size to speak of.  I simply think we have to find our own path in the world when it comes to diet, training, and overall health and wellness.  Once you find that magic formula for you, stick to it!  I will share some of my creative recipes with you from time to time.  My most intimate friends know I enjoy traveling the world, and studying bar tenders that hand craft their own cocktails with their own special liqueurs, spices, syrups, herbs, and fine spirits.  I have mainly been into tequila the past few years, but in this special cocktail, I was inspired by a bar in Mayfair, London, where they crafted a drink called, "The Geisha".  Now that I am shopping weekly at my local Asian market for ingredients for my stir frys and Tom Gha Gai soup, I am always stocked up on kaffir lime leaves, which are impossible to find in an ordinary super market.  Here is the recipe if you are inspired:

Amazon Geisha

Ingredients:

1/2 c coconut milk
1 tbs coconut cream
1 oz lime juice
4 shots vodka
2 shots Grand Marnier
1/4 c pineapples (more if you want it sweeter)
1 inch slice lemongrass
1 TBS grated ginger

Blend all ingredients in blender.  Pour into shaker glass, strain into chilled martini glass.  Garnish with Chinese 5-spice, and kaffir lime leaves. Serves two ordinary men--or one thirsty Amazon.

The Amazon Geisha is powerful, exotic, and intoxicatingly sweet--the perfect balance of a sensual cocktail transporting you to faraway lands.
